A cool breeze drifted by every once in awhile, ruffling his hair, and gently making the leaves crackle on the tree above him. "Perhaps life isn't really all that bad" he thought. "I may have no job, nowhere to live, but at least I have friends, right?"
You're pretty hopeless you know that? A romantic, a dreamer, and an idiot. What are you thinking? All you've got is us. We're your only friends.
He laughed. "You guys, I swear.." Curling his hand into a fist, he gently knocked on his head. "So, the only thing to keep me company are you voices in my head. I sometimes wonder if you're even real." His next laugh was deep and long, but he soon went back to his thinking.
We're real enough, right? If you don't get up off your ass and do something about your worthless life, you - along with us - are going to be dead and gone.
"Whatever."
